Get to know the FaR Out Middle Kate Colosky. Colosky is an impressive middle in the 2027 class with a PPV of 174 who is a stand out player for her FaR Out team. She is fast up and down and is able to swing very high and hard, her transition pin to pin is great and she's able to get over the net quickly to seal the block. I had the chance to ask Kate a couple of questions about her to get to know her. Hope you all enjoy these fun facts about Kate as much as I did!
- What is your favorite volleyball memory so far in your career?
My favorite volleyball memory was this years Triple Crown. It was my first time there and also got to go the NTDP camp before to play with the best of the best.
- If you could play any position other than your own, what would it be?
I would definitely want to be a setter!
- Do you play any other sports? Or If you could play any sport other than volleyball at the high level you are at what would it be?
I haven’t been able to do any other sports along with volleyball but if I wasn’t playing volleyball right now I would probably be doing dance! I danced for about 10 years before I ended up having to choose one and chose volleyball.
- What are you looking forward to this club season?
I am most looking forward to competing with my teammates, improving as much as I can, and the recruiting process.
- Do you have a favorite volleyball skill? Stuff block, big kill, out of system set, etc.?
Definitely a stuff block!
- Who is your favorite NCAA volleyball player?
Andi Jackson
- What do you like to do outside of the volleyball gym? Hobbies?
Outside of volleyball I love to workout, ski, be with friends, family, + my dogs, and lake/beach days.
- Do you have a role model or an influential person in your life? Who and what's the story?
One of my role models is one of my cousins, Trevor. He spent years of his life training to be a marathon runner and went to the 2020/2021 Tokyo Olympics for Team Canada. I was able to see his work ethic and how disciplined he was/had to be to become great. He faced a lot of adversity but came out stronger every time and he is also one of the most genuine people I know.
- If you had to give advice to younger girls what advice/tips would you give?
Advice I would give to younger athletes is to work when no one is watching. It doesn’t matter what others think or what they’re doing. But the work you put in will pay off in the end.
