SEC Program Presitge Levels: Where does each program fall?

SEC Program Presitge Levels: Where does each program fall?

South East Conference

Program Prestige Level

2-year PPV Average with program momentum

265 PPV   Texas   Program Mo: Black Arrow Up

Texas did land the #1 American player in ’27 and beat out Stanford and Wisconsin head-to-head for her so they still have it, but it was a “different” sort of class for the Horns (I personally think that 100% by design) nonetheless it dropped their overall PPV a bit, but it is the new age of “Cap Space” and you can’t carry rosters of 18 All-Americans anymore. The ’26 is on campus and in the fire, so we will see. On paper, they were all #1s. Now it is time to prove it. Again, they are Texas, and they are going to be here EVERY year, and they have earned this. They are funded, they have a great staff and tradition.

221 PPV   Texas A+M  Program Mo: Green Arrow Up

There could not be a bigger, more neon green arrow to stick next to A+M, and Coach Morrison has earned it. The ’25 class was the school’s best yet; the ’26 class may have been slightly down, but '27's led the SEC and was Top 5 in the country and should surpass the ’25 class as best yet in Aggieland. The difference between Minnesota and A&M, for example, is that both coaches came in (I believe 3 years at HC), both have been heavily involved in the NTDP and USA VB programs, and both have coached National Teams. Yet you look at the PPV difference and see what Morrison has done recruiting-wise, getting those NTDP kids to A&M, and trust me with our Player Profiles, there are so many Aggie logos put down for camps. The Natty is simply making things explode. This is a program on fire. It’s too bad they can’t take 20 commits this year because they absolutely could.

212 PPV   Kentucky   Program Mo: Holding Steady

I went back and forth on this, but Kentucky is Kentucky. They don’t really beat out anyone in front of them anymore for big-time recruits, but they also don’t lose anyone they want to anyone below them on the Prestige Chart. Skinner simply identifies exactly his type of players, targets them, and he very seldom misses on talent evaluation, especially when it comes to Setter or Lib/DS. The newfound weapon Skinner may have received this offseason is the retirement of the longtime UK AD. That can do nothing but HELP his program, because I went to more Kentucky matches than he ever did. No one has done more with less than that man, so any help from the new AD will be the first.

205 PPV   Florida   Program Mo: Green Arrow Down

I understand the Gators spent some $ and made some pickups in the portal, but if you are going off of recruiting the past two years, things have been rough in Gainesville. Even before the coaching change, the ’26 class was down. The ’27 class was just helped by a recent flip, and that saved the class. Otherwise, it was not great for the Gators. This is another program that has just felt different when we monitor interest via camp responses, as those have been way down the past two years, with not nearly as many high-end prospects attending Gators Elite camp. So it will be interesting to see if that starts to swing back upwards this summer or not.

196 PPV   Vanderbilt   Program Mo: Black Arrow Up

Everyone needs to remember that Vandy played its first year in the SEC, so considering the program is in good shape. Again, I rely on what I’m seeing as far as interest from some top prospects and the fact that they have been in on some kids they shouldn’t be this early in the program. I know this young staff wants to win battles now, but they are battling some of the elite SEC teams, and then they are in battles with some of the elite educational programs as well. To be 5th overall in the SEC already is AMAZING.

186 PPV   South Carolina   Program Mo: Black Arrow Up

One of my Top 5 Surprise Classes in P4 in ’27, I love what South Carolina did, and love some of the athletes they are bringing in. They back that up with a similar ’28 class, then next year their average could push 200. I like the direction I see the new staff taking, and it seems energetic and positive. Patience is hard in today’s college world, but if SC fans can wait it out….

185 PPV   LSU     Program Mo: Black Arrow Up

Tale of two classes between the ’26 and ’27 classes for the Tide. The ’26 was not a great one, nor deep, but the Tigers went all in on ’27, and wow, they hammered it athletically and depth-wise. I also liked that they were able to sign regional players that should bring in attendance #s from family and friends on a regular basis. Following that up with a solid star or two in ’28 would be huge for LSU.

183 PPV   Alabama   Program Mo: Black Arrow Down

The Tide has failed to jump talent-wise over the past couple of years, and that is something you thought would happen with the coaching change. They have brought in some #s. Recruiting-wise, they just haven’t won any big battles yet to land that “star” to give them that marquee name to boost a class or for sure a day 1 contributor.

176 PPV   Mizzou   Program Mo: Black Arrow Down

This did take me by surprise a little bit, as I thought the Tigers would be higher. This is a team that has all kinds of camp visitors and appears to have many top athletes camping there, and has them as school finalists. They are also in an area where there are several P4 competitors in shot proximity, so competition is fierce.

T-161 Tennessee and Auburn   Program Mo: Vols Black Arrows Down and Auburn Black Arrow Up

Tennessee has just had some kind of issues with transfers leaving and small class numbers. They have one California commit in ’27 that came as a huge recruiting surprise to many. If she doesn’t commit, then Tennessee is looking for a 140 average for two years. Then they have had several team transfers this off-season, so things are uneasy in Vol land, and we will see what ends up happening, but they will get things squared away, and all will be well by camp season, I’m sure.

Auburn has been on a nice couple-year run. Consistent players and a sprinkle of star power from the region have made Auburn a much more solid player in college and have both Auburn’s ’26 and ’27 classes looking very solid.

152 PPC   Ole Miss    Program Mo: Black Arrow Down

I really was a fan two years ago and thought Ole Miss was ready next year to give them a shot. Then last year was a disaster with injuries, and it can become a crutch sometimes. Their recruiting classes have just been ok, nothing really special at all. Nothing special.

151 PPV   Arkansas    Program Mo: Black Arrow Down

Arkansas has struggled program-wise since it went to the Elite 8. They have not pushed for any elite athletes, and we do not hear of them being in on any elite top prospects. They want a kid who knows the system already. They need girls who can mentally get ready

138 PPV   Oklahoma   Progam Mo: Holding Steady

I know the Sooners had big plans last year, and I liked some of their freshman talent, but again, a team that failed to make serious strides on the court helps lead to troubles off of it. We see more social media dances and part of the pack videos than we see legit program videos or camp highlights. It is just kind of a program in neural a bit right now, to us at least.

101 PPV   Mississippi State:

The Bulldogs have simply been a program that has not signed quality P4 talent the past 3 seasons. They are like the Iowas of the Big Ten, and they don’t have the same playing field as Texas or A&M, and it shows.

Georgia doesn’t get an official PPV # because they had a 209 average from last season and have a good class; they don’t have a ’27 class at all yet. So we don’t exactly know what to give them or if we simply wait until the ’27s are over and see if Georgia gets back in the fight here soon.

**Biggest takeaways were: How much lower the SEC scores were compared to the Big Ten in general.
