253 PPV Louisville Program Mo: Black Arrow: Up
If there was ANY talk of recruiting dipping with the coaching change last season, those silly comments should be swept away now. Meske finished landing the best class in school history in ’27, and word is that some VERY impressive names are locking in travel plans to check out The Big Chicken Bowl and Louisville’s campus early in June. Sorry, doubters, they aren’t slowing down one bit.
243 PPV Pittsburgh Program Mo: Black Arrow: Up
They just keep doin what they do. It’s so boring to talk about Pitt recruiting because every year it’s predictably very, very good. They aren’t afraid of battling with any program they have grabbed kids from a distance (see stars from the West coast). I’ve stated the thing that makes Pitt more dangerous to me than the Ville, Stanford, UK, anyone else around them in recruiting is that Coach Fish and staff have zero problem going up against the biggest of programs if they want a recruit. That is different from some others around them who kind of settle if they know one of the elite programs is all-in for someone they like, they may back away. Pitt goes blow for blow and thinks they can win those battles now.
242 PPV Stanford Program Mo: Black Arrow: Up
Now this is an estimated score with me predicting their 2027 class because no one knows who those athletes are. Stanford just keeps getting who they want. There might not be a program with more recruiting pressure on it than the Cardinal, they are the anti-Wisconsin in the fact that they can’t take kids in the portal so they have to get it right the first time and they have to keep those athletes around. Even if you are at Stanford, that’s pressure today. But the staff has done a great job year in and year out. The Freshman class this season had an immediate impact, and the ‘26s joining will be smaller but helpful. Look for the ‘27s to push Louisville for that top spot in the ACC this season by the time the PPVs shake out.
213 PPV SMU Program Mo: Green Arrow Up
The ‘27s are Coach Enger’s best class yet, and she is locking down the Dallas Metro, which is never a bad idea. Each season, they get a deeper base of high school players on the roster, and the Mustangs have a luxury, much like Wisconsin or Penn State, where they can miss on bigger high school prospects, and they do have the funds to get legit transfers. Good for them. They also have the room to go after top-notch prep recruits, which is what Sam has steadily done each season, recruiting higher and higher evaluated prospects to Dallas. This is a program that simply isn’t going anywhere, and it’s built for the long term. Look for their PPV to continue to climb.
173 PPV Clemson Program Mo: Green Arrow Up
This is one of my favorite stories in recruiting. Clemson put together a very solid 2027 class and improved by nearly 90 points over the 2026 class. They brought in 4 legit ACC prospects and have been much more visible on prospect interest lists this offseason. To vault them to 4th overall in the ACC is saying something for sure. Shout to this coaching staff.
170 PPV Florida State Program Mo: Black Arrow Up
The Seminoles made a large improvement in their 27th class also. Their ’26 class only had one commitment, so the ’27 class was needed for the Noles.
166 PPV Georgia Tech Program Mo: Green Arrow None
Now this is a bit deceiving, also, as GT only has the ’26 to draw off of. We have them down as not declaring any commits yet for ’27. So 166 is about where they have been, just kind of OK lately, and then grab what you need in the portal, as the program is always solid, but not with big-name prep players.
161 PPV Notre Dame Program Mo: Holding Steady
Their PPV actually fell within a point of itself each year. The Irish take several athletes right in that PPV range and are very consistent about it. You simply don’t hear about the Irish being in on any serious NTDP athletes or many prospects with higher than a 200 PPV. They are fairly consistent when recruiting right around the 161 range yearly.
160 PPV Boston College Program Mo: Green Arrow Up
Another program that has honestly taken some serious talent upgrades over the past couple of seasons. BC’s coaches need to take some credit; they have really done a nice job of acquiring 3-4 of the best undervalued athletes I had penciled in for each class in ’26 and ’27. Then they have paid a couple of transfers to come in the next couple of years and partner with their skill recruits.
159 PPV North Carolina Program Mo: Green Arrow Up
The Tar Heels have scratched and battled to gain some respect in that ACC. I love their Class of ’28 with three or four of our favorites and kids hard not to love. They are headed in the right direction and are starting to have the grind pay off for them a bit. I really like their staff and crew, who seem like they will work whenever you need them to get better. Watch the Tar Heels going forward.
158 PPV Duke Program Mo: Black Arrow Up
This year’s Freshman class went in as highly touted, but didn’t produce much. The ’27 class was a better step. The fresh news in Durham is the new coaching staff taking over in January. Early signs are that they have some young, energetic recruiters on the bench, and Duke did have some recruiting momentum just a couple of camps ago, with quite a bit of high-end academic talent attending in the Summers. I would guess that you will see an improved class once again here in ’28 simply off the new momentum and maybe some initial support that new coaches often get from ADs or NIL streams. Can they turn the Devils into winners on the court will be the question, and that will help much more with future recruiting.
157 PPV Virginia Program Mo: Black Arrow Up
The Cavs staff worked so hard last year and were everywhere they could be on the circuit. Club College Camps, qualifiers, and I will say we do see Virginia showing up all the time on so many prospects' radar for select camp plans. The staff is putting in the work, and they are visible. There is mighty competition in that Colonial Region and several powerhouse programs up and around DC for the Cavs to compete with, but they had another improved class they brought home in 2027, and they gradually elevate the talent in their gym.
153 PPV California Program Mo: Black Arrow Up
Cal is another ACC school that upgraded in ’27 with a strong class and boosted their 2 yr PPV average. The Bears moved up to 153 and brought in a nice mix and a class with a couple of early play-type candidates. They are in a hotbed of talent on that West Coast, and they definitely have competition, but they stay away from the conference battles with everyone else. See if they can follow it up with another ’28 class that tops 153 and keep the needle moving up.
151 PPV NC State Program Mo: Black Arrow Up
The Pack was another program that made a jump in their ’27 class. The story of the ACC and NC State kept up. Again, they are a program in the mix with so many in the bottom 1/3 of the conference, in that there hasn’t been a lot of investment in the program administration-wise to help the staff build, and it’s hard to move up in this conference that isn’t slowing down at the top. They are in the group of 6-7 programs that want to be the next to take a bigger jump and get up closer to the spot where they are on the verge of tourney contention each season.
Miami 147 PPV and Wake Forrest 140 PPV
Miami was a surprise to me that they were not higher, considering some of the success they have had recently, but a small ’27 group brought the Canes' total down, and they simply haven’t recruited well at the prep level. At least when it comes to battling for some of the bigger names out of Florida and the Southeast Region.
Wake Forrest is a staff I’m pulling for, and I’ve liked what they have done over the last year. First, the timing of the new staff coming in after January (a year ago) wasn’t a great start, as they missed a portal window and were short on that recruiting class holding it together. I felt their ’27 class has some definite upside to it, and I like some of the prospects they went after with high ceiling potential. They grabbed a few athletes who looked the part of ACC-type recruits physically, and that is a huge start. This is a solid staff that is doing some PR things, trying to get the fanbase involved, also.
**Biggest takeaways were: Look how top-heavy the ACC is with the Big 3 (better than any other conference). Then the upper 1/3 has a drop compared to the SEC, but the parity in the rest of the league (look at Clemson to Wake) is amazing, and I love the fact that programs like Clemson and Boston College made such dramatic jumps last season. That is good for the SPORT.
