Create a Player ProfileVBAdrenaline 2025 1st Team All-Select Camp Stars

While the first two weeks of June are packed with 2027 athletes trying to finalize and lock up offers. They are more for the schools trying to sell the athletes. Post July 1 Select Camps are more about 2028 and 2029 prospects making their impressions on the college staffs, getting their name cemented on a Big Board for next year and moving their way onto the Santa's Wishlist of P4 Coaches across the NCAA. We followed our social media and the Player Profiles and we checked them twice. Here is 1st Team All-Select Team Camp Stars of 2025. Those that did the most moving and shaking in coaches minds this Summer.
Shayla Rautenberg - Diamond Level - Middle Blocker - Nebraska ONE
Can you tell we like this kid? Still another article to come on Shayla. Shayla impressed coaches because of the improved athleticism she showed throughout the club season and her maturity. She acts like more of a college ready star than many of the 2028s. From how she treats other athletes, to how she acts off the court and on social media, the fact that she does interviews, etc. There are many athletes in the class Shayla showed some college ready maturity this Summer that I think honestly sets her a part as more of a sure thing prospect than others and in today's world of "investing in athletes" knowing what you are getting maturity wise and how they handle themselves is a VERY BIG DEAL that some prospects won't learn until too late and some just get bad advice on. Shayla is getting great advice and had a tremendous Summer separating herself as Elite.
Lexie Coleman - No Player Profile - Outside -Legacy Volleyball
We are not fast to issue PPV evaluations to 2029 and Lexie doesn't have a Player Profile with us yet, but she is special and we are not the first to say that by any means. Lexie will not have trouble finding a school when her June comes. The reason she made this list was I think her overall market value increased because Lexie showed that she was probably as good as any 2028 OH by attending and competing where she did. Again you will hear me reference attitude often in these "elite" lists because when it comes down to deciding between little things often character will matter and Lexie's was amazing from what we heard and witnessed in some very BIG GYMS. Not afraid to compete vs. anyone at a young age she erased any doubt of being elite this Summer.
Izzie Penrose - Silver Level - Libero - AZ Storm
Penrose was a camp machine attending camps all over the country. She was at Kansas, SMU, Louisville, then Baylor and A+M for sure. She was the social media queen documenting her travels, but above all showing her skills at all of the stops. She is the next in line at AZ Storm following Hua and a line of Storm D1 prospects that have headed to big time programs. Reports were very positive along the way and you will hear Penrose in that mix as we continue to talk about the depth in this 2028 class. She is one of the top talents and proved that this Summer "on the road".
Brooke Neal - Elite Red - Libero - Municiana
Neal did what Municana liberos do, she stayed local and tore up Midwest camps around Indiana this Summer. Her stock climbing more along the way. Camping at OSU, Ball State, Indiana, Cincy, Dayton, and also Mizzou. She then made another SEC trip to Alabama Neal hit all different school sizes, levels and conferences so she has an idea of exactly what she likes and a feel for what might be right for her as she heads into her recruiting year. She is a tough Midwest libero and impressed several on her tour. Options definitely opened up for Neal the past 8 weeks.
Tatum Kelly - Silver - Setter - 1st Alliance
First off I interviewed Kelly before the camp season and I loved her answer when I asked what her goal was and she said "I am working on being more vocal and confident this year and just taking more leadership" very mature thinking for a 15 year old who has been put in some fairly big spots already. Kelly has shown her improved strength and over physicality the entire season and word is that confidence and assertiveness did show up on the Summer Tour. She took some big stops at Kentucky, USC, Louisville and Texas (where they only took 18 campers total). She has earned the right to have her name "in that mix" when it comes to that top group of '28 setters everyone will talk about all of next year and this Summer simply solidified that fact for Tatum.
Aubree Sutherland - No Player Profile - Outside - NNR
Sutherland was new to us, not having a Player Profile and playing at a smaller Nevada club, so she is a great example of how the Select Camp circuit was crucial. She also comes in as a "high ceiling prospect" at 6'4" and a ton of potential so there was quite a bit riding on the last couple of months for Aubree, maybe more so her than anyone else on this list. Taking in camps at Stanford, Wisconsin, Penn State, Rutgers, USC, Baylor, San Diego, San Diego State to name a few you can see the range of schools interested in Aubree and watching her first hand vs. their level camp competition. That is also ALOT of camp days to take in and put your body through, plus the travel and club nationals, etc.
Word was high on the six rotation outside with the long frame and she caught the right eyes and impressed some top schools enough that she definitely made some "shorter lists" heading into January. Don't be surprised if this list gets larger early in her club season due to how well she performed at top level camps this Summer.
Mallory Mizell - Red - Outside - Stars Volleyball
We interviewed Mizell a week ago, but she still earned a spot on this list. Her rise is still crazy, week by week over the past 3 months she just kept adding another camp invite one by one and they kept getting larger in prestige. Before you knew it she was camping at half of the SEC. Mallory seriously went from relative unknown to camper and (highly sought after camper) at Alabama, Auburn, Vandy, South Carolina, Arkansa, A+M, Tennessee, Georgia then Arizona State for good measure.
All along the way she consistently did her thing, played solid all around volleyball. She is going to need to improve that 3-step approach by 2 inches (and she knows this it's on her Goal Board and home and she announced it to all of VBAdrenaline Nation), but if she does that with everything else she showed this Summer everyone in the South knows she moves up into a whole new recruiting level.
Chayse Courtney - Silver - Outside - Vision Volleyball
Ok love the Courtney story and her PPV sky rocketed as soon as she updated her Block Touch and her 3step approach #s (both of which increased 3 inches during club). So that vaults her athletic levels into the Silver level for PPV and then she hits the West Coast Select Camp circuit (USC, UCLA, USD, Oregon, Washington) and boom starts having her own success there as well. The 2027 class was so deep in Cali that the 28s are just getting rolling, but Chayse has to be looked at. First off for her size and what she is capable physically. Go look at her TOP Test #s with Block Touch and 3-step approach both push 9.7s and honestly in a class that isn't as deep in OH's as you may think. We put an ** by her name for certain. Only question is figuring out is she a regional kid or would she leave the coast?
Malie Ogebechie - Elite Red - Outside - Sports Academy
Ok Malie came on during end of club and camp season and was playing her best volleyball during the Summer. She took the early Summer tour of very high academic schools on the East Coast (Harvard, Princeton, Yale, Duke) and then some of the top academic/volleyball programs on the West Coast with Pepperdine, Cal and then attended UCLA which had a deep camp. I made note of this earlier that I just have a feeling that this an athlete who is on the verge of blowing up VB wise in the next six months. She played very well this Summer and it was noticed by a couple of different camp staffs. I don't know what that means for academic plans or volleyball offers, but I just have this feeling there will be different volleyball opportunities and those started to develop because of her performance and a couple of her Select Camps in July.
Amari Frazier - Gold Level - Middle Blocker - AZ Storm
This was a learning Summer for Frazier I think. First I think this girl fits in any locker room and she is fun to have on a team. Second I'm not so sure there isn't position flexibility when she gets to the next level and she showed that on the camp tour be able to slide out when needed and play a bit of pin. Next, always willing to learn and try new concepts (so high coachability very important at the next level). I'm not sure what she learned about being a dominant middle at the P4 level, but I think coaches found out she is a VOLLEYBALL PLAYER at the P4 level and that is all that matters. That is why I put her on this list.
