The talent is constantly growing around the country as our sport continues to gain center stage attention. With more athletes competing, the stronger the competition becomes in each state. Next up on our state by state series, we will be looking at Pennsylvania. With one of the last qualifiers being held in Philadelphia, it seems appropriate that we look back into the talent in the great Keystone State.
This week, let’s take a look at our top 10 PPV athletes who currently have a player profile on our site!
Isabelle Hoppe - 2026 Setter, Academy Volleyball Cleveland, PPV 279
Hoppe starts off the PA list strong, playing for AVC these last two seasons, the Pittsburgh based setter has set the bar high for the Keystone state. A dynamic and athletic setter, she has national team experience and helped the U19 team to a NORCECA title last summer. The Pitt Panthers are getting a gem of QB in Hoppe, her hands are solid and is able to handle the ball very well - location is accurate and deceptive.
Alexandra Knox - 2028 Setter, Pittsburgh Elite, PPV 202
Another top setter from the Pittsburgh area, Knox is playing up on Pitt Elite’s 16-1 and is still a stand out amongst a super talented 2027 group. She’s decently long and pretty offensive. She’s able to locate and push pin to pin with good speed. She’s got another full year before her recruitment journey starts, but we are imagining she will be a big pick up next June.
Molly Drake - 2027 Outside, Jersey Juniors, PPV 191
Headed to the other side of the state now, we have Drake who heads over the border and plays for Jersey Juniors. The 6’4” outside is an absolute force at the net. As we know, this is a tall person’s sport, and Drake take full advantage of that fact. She swings high and is able to score swinging over blocks like they aren’t there. I especially love when she takes a routes towards the middle of the court as she likes to do with her high school team. A little more speed on her approach speed and she will be unstoppable at the next level.
Journee Scott - 2027 Outside, Pittsburgh Elite, PPV 190
Scott is hits opposite for her club team, and while she may not be the tallest pin on the court, she has a heavy swing and is able to get up on top of balls quickly with her approach. She sees hands well and finds success tooling the outside hand of her blockers. Having a solid right side attacker is critical for the success of any team, but especially in club where we tend to see teams favoring the outside, Scott is just that player which makes sense why her Pittsburgh Elite team has found so much success.
Molly Robertson - 2027 Setter, Revolution Volleyball, PPV 180
Robertson impressed me initially with how technically sound she is as a setter. Her footwork is very efficient and she’s able to create a nice even tempo every time to her attackers. She’s able to see the game happen pretty well and she’s established great connections with her hitters which allows for a very balanced offense.
Kennedy Hummert - 2028 Libero, Pittsburgh Elite, PPV 178
Hummert is the scrappy ‘bro you know and love. She does a fantastic job digging balls outside of her body with one arm. She reads the game well and isn’t afraid of the floor. She’s also playing up on that stacked Pittsburgh Elite 16-1 team and makes a fantastic pair to Knox at setter. They will both be fun to watch as this next year unfolds.
Natalie Carr - 2026 Outside, Pittsburgh Elite, PPV 178
Carr is a fun outside to watch, she has a great approach and long back swing that generates her a lot of power on her attack. This 2026 is committed to Youngstown State and is sure to be an immediate impact player, high shot making ability, crafty in her ability to score, Carr has a solid career ahead of her.
Norah Busch - 2026 Middle Blocker, East Coast Power, PPV 174
Busch is a 2026 middle is great court vision, she’s long and does a great job of swinging high on each ball. She finds the sidelines of the court well and we also love her versatility in being able to be effective swinging off the right. The Wolfpack will love this 2024 PA Gatorade Player of the year who is sure to make a statement in the ACC.
Chloe Summerville - 2028 Setter, Revolution Volleyball, PPV 157
Summerville is super athletic and a spark plug in the setter position. If there’s one thing about me, I love a setter who brings instant energy to the court, and that’s Chloe. She is quick and strong, able to push the ball pin to pin. She also seems like she is better when she has to set off the net? Impressive for a setter of her age. Can’t wait to watch this one continue to rise.
Colbie McKenna - 2026 Outside, East Coast Power, PPV 157
In 5 seconds of watching film on McKenna, I instantly understood why Michigan State snatched her up. She’s extremely dynamic and fun to watch. Jumps really well and has a fantastic arm along with being super crafty. She’s great on serve and pass and is a go to option for her East Coast Power team. Can’t wait to see what she brings to East Lansing as she’s one of those players that could step into any position for the Spartans and bring great value.
