10 Impact Transfers That Might Not Have Caught the Headlines

10 Impact Transfers That Might Not Have Caught the Headlines

Ten Impact Transfers That Might Not Have Caught the Headlines

Alanna Bankston OH/OPP Sr OLD Louisville NEW Michigan State

A great upgrade for Sparty and a chance to be a big weapon in her her Sr. season for Bankston who should be an immediate upgrade for MSU.

Tenesyn Frye Setter Soph OLD Houston, NEW Ole Miss

Frye was a decorated club player for Idaho Crush and seemed ready to impact early at Houston. She could be an immediate impact in the SEC and help Ole Miss for 3 years.

Marin Collins OH RS/Freshman OLD Penn State, NEW Georgia

Collins was a very important national recruit signing with Penn State. She just wasn’t making the rotation for the Nittany Lions and moved on. Fitting in to the Georgia lineup she still upgrades their talent level on the roster and has a shot to truly make her own path. She also can mix in with some of the good young talent that the Bulldogs have coming in next season. This could be a big sign for Georgia.

Reese Dunkle Middle RS/Freshman OLD Stanford, NEW Boston College

This is an interesting one as athletes do not transfer out of Stanford often, but Boston College will take Dunkle who should step in and push for immediate playing time at the middle blocker position. Dunkle has uncommitted and now transferred, but BC does have two solid recruiting classes arriving so it is nice seeing them making a splash in the portal also. They are upgrading program talent for sure and Dunkle is the top end of that talent upgrade.

Reese Wuebker OH/DS Junior OLD Ohio State, NEW Virginia

Solid two year pick up for Virginia who has been upgrading the program through recruiting classes and the portal. Wuebker will help on both sides for the Cavs, but especially the defensive end with her passing game, but even at 5’9” she will give Virginia an offensive punch. This was an early sign, but still a solid one.

Avery Scoggins Setter Junior OLD Arizona, NEW Vanderbilt

Scoggins is a giant commit for Vandy. A two-year floor general with all-conference potential and she gives them the court leader and stable P4 player they need at the position. It also allows them to mold, train and work with their incoming Freshman setter and get her truly ready to compete at the SEC level.

Olivia Borgman OH Sophomore OLD Georgia, NEW South Carolina

Borgman played in a large amount of match time for South Carolina this season and she was a large recruit for them. So the Gamecocks taking her back with three years left is another nice personnel acquisition for a program that has some improved talent on the way in recruiting classes soon. Borgman should be option OH 1 right away.

Camden Stucky Setter, RS/Freshman OLD Tennessee, NEW Kansas State

For us this is a HR commit for the Wildcats. Talent wise Stucky is an All-Conference potential setter in the Big XII when healthy. She grew up not far down the interstate so she will have a fanbase and that is always a great thing and after two years of wanting to get back on the court she should be hungry to compete. Watch for this move in the Fall.

Katie Dalton Setter, Grad Student OLD Kansas, NEW Creighton

This is an interesting pick-up here. All of the media took off with the Ayden Ames commitment, but all of the sudden the Jays are a sneaky good (like I should have probably put them in my Pre-Pre Season Top 10 Poll) good. They have the Franchise coming in starting in January, but Freshman setters you just never know when they will be ready and when you have a veteran squad that is ready to WIN NOW, having a solid veteran setter that has been through some “stuff” is a life saver. That makes Dalton a giant commit for Creighton and allows the Jays to take as much time as they want getting Christanson ready next season.

Kiki Granberry Middle Grad Student OLD Tennessee NEW Indiana

You need physical middles to compete in the B1G and that is what the Hoosiers added. They have young talent in the program and they have better talent coming each year. They will need some 1 and 2 year vets like Granberry to help fill gaps while some of the young pups grow up and physically mature. She has battled in the SEC and will take that mentality into the Hoosier program. Physical, tall, long middles are so vital in this conference that you can’t have enough depth at this position, yet along veteran/talented depth. This is going to end up being another solid pickup in Hoosierville.
