Horns Start Season Ranked #5

The AVCA officially dropped its preseason poll, and the Longhorns came in at #5 in the country behind Nebraska, Penn State, Pitt, and Louisville. This marks an improvement from the 11th place finish in the final poll of the 2024 season. While Texas lost some key players to graduation and the transfer portal in the offseason, it also made some major gains bringing in Torrey Stafford, Ramsey Gary, and the #1 freshman class in the country, and the AVCA seems to think that'll help Texas towards its more typical top-5 caliber season. To me though, I only see four places to go up.
