Create a Player ProfileDespite decommit Penn State has a stellar '28 Class

Penn State may have had a third commit for a moment, but in the end, the Nittany Lions are pretty happy with the group of two commits they will more than likely end the 2028 recruiting cycle with. Both Averi Bridges (Libero, Nebraska) and Janiah Burrage (Outside, California) were PSU's first options at libero and pin so to grab each of them was more than a dream for the coaching staff, and with each of them as #3 overall position players by VBAdrenaline, the 8x National Champions are getting high-end talent once again.
The class looks to end with an overall Class PPV somewhere around the 96.0 range when scores settle in after summer evaluations, but that should still easily keep Coach Katie and her staff, led by recruiting coordinator Brian Toron, in the top 5 for the 4th consecutive year.
For a brief few minutes during the first few days of the contact period, the Nittany Lions did receive a verbal commitment from a 3rd highly touted prospect, but a very short time later, the commit called back and decommitted, and later picked another school. Despite the loss, the word is that PSU does not have the intent to pursue any other prospects in the class as of now.
