Gratitude and Glass

Gratitude and Glass

TITLE: Gratitude and Glass

The Duke Blue Devils struck big with Tribe’s Charlotte Glass.

The viral 6’1” lefty setter was filled with gratitude when asked about her last few months of volleyball.
Earlier this summer, Charlotte led her talented club team to two deep runs in Orlando and
Chicago finishing 3rd, respectively. Glass said her Tribe team had high expectations for the year
with new key pieces. Falling just short of a National Title, twice, in 16 Open stings a little but
Charlotte said “we are just like a family and love each other so much. I’m just really proud of the
way we fought”. With Glass holding down the setting duties, Gopher commit Kelly Kinney, UCLA
commit Mija Bendziute, and Tekoa Barns on the pins, and Mizzou commit Zoey Matais in the
back court...this team could be VERY good again.

I’m sure Charlotte caught everyone’s attention when she started going viral on Instagram. When
asked about it, she “was not expecting it at all. It was a bit of a shock but everyone was so
sweet and it's a cool way to connect with people”. When asked what makes her successful, the
aggressive setter credits the relationships she has with her hitters and her confident mindset.

Recruiting was “crazy” for Glass, but she kept an open mind. Getting offers on the first day of
communication was something she didn’t expect but ultimately it came down to the Blue Devils.
She wanted to find a balance of great volleyball and education, something her parents instilled
in her from a young age. “I’ve always loved the school since I was little and Duke was always at
the top of my list. I was on campus this summer and I got a gut feeling that this is where I want
to be”. Charlotte will add a lot to the Duke offense and we’re excited to see how much better she
can get before then.
