Can we throw this whole narrative out the window already, "Louisville isn't a program on the rise anymore." It's arrived, and so has Pitt. Wherever it is, it's here. There are no more upsets, no more surprises for the programs, no more shock a big recruit was on campus, yes they have to win their first national title, but so does about 275 other college volleyball programs and they have had a hell of lot more shots than 271 of them will ever get. There is just NO MORE PROVING LOUISVILLE NEEDS TO PROVE THEY BELONG....THEY HAVE BEEN HERE. So, fans, fanbases, and media that support us as well, let's stop acting so surprised when Dan the Man and his talented coaching staff do something as good or better than one of the other top four teams; he should.
That leads us to the Future Flock Camp, no longer a straggling camp of a few birds here and a few birds over there. Mostly birds from the drivable Midwest and a couple of talented, hopeful prospects. No, this Flock, this Flock was mighty and this Flock was talented A to Z. This group was good, you didn't even need nametags. We tease (only a little bit a few of them you didn't need nametags they were that famous), but the talent in this camp was undeniable, first, from the simple level of play in the gym. There were many of the 'Ville incoming commits attending, and it wasn't like they just stood out and dominated by any means. Some of these talented 2028s pushed them, and Coach Meske and Chamberlain had been invited to campus.
We had an article a few days ago with a chunk of this roster that was at this camp, and it was impressive. Many programs outside the Big 5 would kill to have 3-4 of these kids and then try their best to sign one and fight for two. Louisville will do what it has done over the past 10 years. Identify their top needs. Identify athletes who show interest in them following camp and through the prep season. Find the 1-2 at each position that best fits their culture, and then attack in June.
You will always hear about the Dream Team, Eight Star, and The Experience, and you should, but the Future Flock Camp needs to be mentioned in the same breath as those camps because the talent is comprised mainly of the same athletes and it's a good thing because in a new era of college sports the program can use that extra $ saved on nametags and put it towards Rev Share. Fly Strong Flock!
