Ava Lane the next great find by Matt Ulmer

Class after class in Eugene, Matt Ulmer took great athletes, undervalued volleyball prospects and turned them into very good volleyball players who all out performed their "ranking" and thus a Top 10 program was built out of little resources in Oregon.

Fast forward to Kansas and Ulmer's second class and here maybe the first true recruit to fit that bill for his new program, Ava Lane '28 Setter, to most maybe an ehhh at best when it comes to anykind of a "ranking" by the national sites that know it all.  Ava may be exactly what Coach Ulmer does best; small school, small club amazing athlete.  State champion in the 400m as 9th grader in the state of Missouri and 3rd place in the 100 and 200m.  High school all-stater as a 9th grader in her state as well.

But, the fact that she wasn't on a big high school power house or the biggest club program she slipped through some cracks.  Watch Ulmer work his magic now with the backup at KU, but she can be turned into a very good situation at the setter spot and Ulmer has "his recruit" at KU for years to come.
