The Next Wave: Player Profiles ‘30 and ‘31, Week 6

While we don’t rank the Classes of 2030 and 2031 due to their early stage of development, there is no shortage of standout talent from these young athletes worth recognizing. We’re excited to highlight these prospects and look forward to tracking their growth and sharing their journeys.  

Class of 2030

Kayleigh Byrd: OH- Mizuno CNVBC 16 Ang 

OH Kayleigh Byrd is already gaining valuable experience by competing above her age division with Mizuno CNVBC 16 Ang, where her 6-foot frame and developing all-around game continue to stand out. A multiple-time USAV NTDP participant, Byrd has also been proactive on the recruiting front, attending camps at Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, and Florida as she continues to build a strong foundation for the future.

Kennedy Jefferson: setter- Skyline 15 Royal Ryan  

Setter Kennedy Jefferson has put together an impressive early resume, highlighted by earning MVP honors at the 2026 UA Next MS Camp and being a 2 time national champion. The Skyline 15 Royal Ryan standout continues to gain exposure through camps at North Carolina, Houston, and TCU, while her selection to the 2026 NTR All-Star 15U Team reflects the promise she brings to the position.

Alessia Johnson: libero/DS- OTVA Tampa 14 Cici 

Libero/DS Alessia Johnson continues to make her presence felt as a young defensive standout, earning MVP honors at the 2026 UA Next MS Camp and later receiving a high school camp invitation. As a crucial component of  OTVA 14 Cici, Johnson has sought out strong competition and instruction through camps at Kentucky, North Carolina, Alabama, and the 407 Volleyball Club Camp, where she trained in front of coaches from several prominent Division I programs.

Ashlee Willis: setter- WJV 14-1

Setter Ashlee Willis has played an important role in WJV 14-1’s consistent success, helping her team capture the Prep Dig Gauntlet 14 Premier Division title while regularly competing at a high level. A member of the 13U Badger High Performance Team, Willis is a hardworking player whose commitment to improvement continues to show through her development and leadership on the court.

Sabrina Urena: OH- OTVA Tampa 13 Kesha

OH Sabrina Urena helped OTVA Tampa 13 Kesha earn a double Nationals bid following their performance at the ASICS Florida Volleyball Challenge, showcasing the impact she can make on a successful squad. Characterized by her powerful swing, Urena is a young prospect who continues to develop the offensive tools that make her an exciting player to watch in the coming years.

Amelia Rasmussen: OH- Alamo 14 Premier 

OH Amelia Rasmussen has made a true impact on the pin from Alamo 14 Premier helping them to capture the Nike Cross Court 15 Elite Division championship. Her explosive vertical gives her plenty of upside as an attacker, and she has already begun gaining valuable exposure through events such as the Alamo Volleyball Camp featuring coaches from programs including Tulsa and SMU.

TK Chapman: MB- TAV 14 Black 

Standing at 6 feet tall, MB TK Chapman brings a powerful combination of size, energy, and physicality to TAV 14 Black. A multiple-time UA Next MS Camp participant, Chapman helped her team secure a Nationals bid at the Lone Star Classic and continues to show promising potential as she develops her game at the net.

Blake Doehla: setter- Madtown 141 Nationals 

Setter Blake Doehla has helped guide Madtown 14-1 Nationals to a successful season, including a Nationals bid earned at the Badger Region Qualifier. Her effective serving game and ability to build strong connections with her hitters have made her a standout prospect, and she continues to develop the skills that can elevate an offense.

Class of 2031

Christiana Montoya: OH- AV Impact 15-1 

OH Christiana Montoya is an athletic young prospect who brings plenty of energy to the court and competes with enthusiasm every time she steps between the lines. The AV Impact 15-1 standout has already gained valuable experience through the SoCal JVPA Camp and UA Next MS Camp, continuing to build a strong foundation as she develops her game.

Tatum Silva: setter- 1st Alliance 13-1

Setter Tatum Silva is a developing setter beginning to make strides with 1st Alliance 13-1, showing promise as she continues to grow her leadership and decision-making skills on the court. Her participation in the UA Next MS Camp provided an opportunity to learn from high-level coaches and compete alongside other talented athletes from across the country.

Malaya Frazier: libero/DS- Skyhigh 13 Onyx 

Libero/DS Malaya Frazier played a key role in SkyHigh 13 Onyx’s undefeated run through the Windy City Power League, helping the team earn multiple bids to Nationals along the way. A standout with strong court awareness and relentless hustle, Frazier consistently finds ways to impact matches and continues to build a solid foundation in the back row.

Kelsey Walls: OH/DS- Skyline 15 Royal David 

Kelsey Walls is a versatile OH/DS for Skyline 15 Royal David who continues to show promise through her ability to contribute in multiple roles on the court. A UA Next Middle School Camp participant and Coleman Junior High Athlete of the Year, Walls is building an impressive foundation as she begins her volleyball journey.

Peyton Wings: setter- A5 13 Karen 

Setter Peyton Wings helped lead A5 13 Karen through an undefeated run in the 13 Elite division at Triple Crown, showcasing her ability to keep an offense running smoothly in high-level competition. Her team’s quadruple qualification for Nationals following the Show Me Qualifier reflects the success of a group that continues to perform at a high level, with Wings serving as an important piece of that effort.

Lola Garcia: Setter/RS- Alamo 13 Premier 

Setter/RS Lola Garcia has helped Alamo 13 Premier earn a trip to Nationals, bringing a strong work ethic and team-first approach to every match. Despite her young age, this prospect displays mature decision-making and court awareness that continue to stand out as she develops her game.

Natalia Agustin: setter- United 13 Evern/Damon 

Setter Natalia Agustin has already gained valuable experience through the UA Next MS Camp while helping United 13 Evern/Damon earn a bid to Nationals. Her hustle and willingness to compete for every point make her a young setter who continues to lay a strong foundation for future growth.
