Notes from the War Room:

Pro Notes from the Inside Week of January 11-18th

Talk in the Office and On the Road

*Most of these focused on Tour of Texas in Austin since that is where our travel plans were taking us (winters in the Midwest), but we will be mixing notes later on regarding notes from other parts of the country; Zona, Columbus for sure.  We might not get 1000 player reports, but these are definitely not Ai generated.  This is coming from pros who have done this for a living, some as recently as a couple of weeks ago.  They have done this for a living at the highest level.

Sade Bello Houston Juniors TX '28 OH

Bends and is athletic. She hits a higher ball than expected. Moved up the list

Bethany Benjamin A5 DS ’28

Great movement and love her vision. Definitely a P4 option and PLAYING her way up lists

Shiloh Brddick A5 ’29 OPP

Plays Oppo now not sure bc she is playing up in age and is OPP her real position? Keep an eye on her later in the season….

Amiya Bryant TX ’28 MB

May appear slightly small for an elite MB at P4 level, especially against elite OHs like Knotts and Lamar.  Could be very solid middle at a mid-major program or backup type at smaller school.

Geralynn Byers-Veal TX ’29 OH

Longer took a couple of swings today swings high vs no block.  Had several errors. Still lacks power in swing. Young and needs strength for an elite game.  **She is a '29 so need to watch her development!

Ellie Chamorro TX OH ’29

Move a bit slow swings high vs no block she will attack hard vs a block each time.  Inconsistent still with shot making and swings so things to watch for later in the season as she is a 15's.

Julia Clarke A5 GA MB ’28

Fast arm, avg bock, doesn’t get many attack opportunities but makes most of them when she gets them. Hard army to defend her. She will relocate to swing from different positions and marketing her correctly is important.

MC Crutcher TAV TX OH 2029

Making some good shot choices and she’s young. I think she’s going to be good. Good talent around her and playing high watch and see how she develops her all-around game with this team.

Faith Gandy TX 2028 MB

Very good athlete, maybe just out of the top group right now with potential to get there. Still figuring things out body control wise when it comes to on the court. Playing OPP now. When it clicks for her watch out “high-ceiling”

Jada St. Rose Houston Jrs Tx ’28 OH

You can’t teach certain things that she is doing on the court, but her ball control needs a lot of work for the next level. Project athlete it’s all on her.

Chelsea Torrence A5 GA ’28 Setter

Very soft hands and accuracy. Solid, consistent setter came in and well led them to a title

Summer Takua WAVE CA ’28 OH

Attacked the line, wrist control is very good. Just out of top group, but solid player. Important to watch her development by end of the season! Skilled player, watch for explosion.

Grace White TX ’28 MB.

Love this kids upside. Gets up quick and has a whip of an arm. Work ethic isn’t a question and good blocking eyes, gets up and over well.

Baylee Wilson CA ’29 OH

Love how she is “placing the ball to score and not just banging the ball every time”. Ball control is improving. Took a few good high swings off the hands. Great progression that she is trying more of that now. Special player.

Taylor Johnson TX ’28 OH.

Taylor’s rise continues, a bit in anonymity because of her teammates, but she tore things up again and that is the 3rd consecutive time we have watched her that she has done that. Longer, stronger and physical. She is one that is slowly climbing up “coaches” big boards even if she isn’t climbing up “ranking sites” as fast as she should. She’s going to be ready early you can just see it in her game.

Ashlynn Proctor CA ’28 OH.

Proctor excelled at what she excels at, everything. She had and all-around great weekend in Texas and show six-rotation elite skills at times in many areas. She can score from anywhere and she is aggressive from the service line. She shows grit keeping balls alive and her defensive game is on-point. She will need to continue to develop ways to score vs. elite front row talent, but she is a P4 option no doubt.

Chloe Taylor CA ’28 Setter

Taylor is the name on the West Coast and she was the leader for the WAVE squad. She wa good for them and a solid Setter with good hands and is consistent. We are excited for Triple Crown and the chance to see her match up against the other top setters in the class and see how she matches up. Chloe is good, just how good in this class is what is to be determined still.

Dylan Kupiec WAVE CA Middle ’28 MB.

Dylan at 6’3” had a big weekend and came on the scene really in a division of much bigger names. Runs the slide and puts a quick block and long so she gets hands on many balls that don’t get started. Watch for her to pick up steam as the year goes on.

Claire Bolton Alamo TX ’28 OH

Variety of shots and can see more lift in her game from the Fall. Solid ball control player, very good entire weekend for them. Can she push to play at a higher level to be more of an elite attacking threat by end of season? Because really like her overall game at next level.
