Get to know the Drive Nation Setter, Kamryn Mullican. Mullican is a solid setter in the 2027 class with a PPV of 171 who is a solid all around player and QB for her club team. She is a highly valuable setter as she's pretty good at all things, passing, attacking, setting, defense, you name it - Mullican is your girl. I had the chance to ask Kamryn a couple of questions about her to get to know her. Hope you all enjoy these fun facts about Kamryn as much as I did!
- What is your favorite volleyball memory so far in your career?
My favorite volleyball memory would be getting newcomer of the year my freshman year of high school. It was a really exciting moment.
- If you could play any position other than your own, what would it be?
I would want to be a libero. I really enjoy defense and it seems like a fun position to play.
- Do you play any other sports? Or If you could play any sport other than volleyball at the high level you are at what would it be?
If I could play another sport I would want to play tennis. I love the speed of the game and I enjoy playing it on the weekends.
- What were you most looking forward to this club season?
I was most looking forward to Lone Star Classic because It’s my favorite qualifier and I love staying downtown.
- Do you have a favorite volleyball skill? Stuff block, big kill, out of system set, etc.?
My favorite volleyball skill is hitting the second ball when i’m front row setting.
- Who is your favorite NCAA volleyball player?
My favorite NCAA player is Kami Miner, the setter on Stanford and Andi Jackson, the middle on Nebraska.
- What do you like to do outside of the volleyball gym? Hobbies?
I enjoy playing pickle ball with my family and I also love traveling whenever I get the chance.
- Do you have a role model or an influential person in your life? Who and what's the story?
My role model would have to be my dad because he is exactly the type of person I want to be when I grow up. I also look up to my mom because she’s my biggest supporter.
- If you had to give advice to younger girls what advice/tips would you give?
Be a selfless player and be confident in everything you do.
