Class of '28 Athlete FIT Ratio Leaders 30-21

Recruiting the Class of 2028

The our TOP 30

Athlete to Program Situational FITS

Preface: Situational FITS are scored based on the following scoring rubric to come up with a PLAYER'S Situation FIT Score (meaning how well they truly fit into the situation they just committed to).

This is our opinion only based on what we know, have observed or heard about 1. The athlete 2. The Coach/Coaching Staff 3. The culture/program of college they are going to 4. Potential depth chart and chance of playing in two years (completely based on our speculation)

**These are our Top 30 of the Class of over 500 so far.

**If you turned this around and did a Program FIT (which yes we look at also) these scores look much different many times through a Coaching Staff's eyes.

30 . Mallory Mizell - South Carolina commit - OH 7.97 FIT RATIO

Mizell extremely productive in HS and club gets her shot at the SEC and does in her home state with the program that appears to be “ready to take a step” the Gamecocks have been building and Mizell should bring LOCKER ROOM + and the HOME STATE fans along with her, plus a shot to do something not done in awhile. Win and play in December for USC.

29. Maya Ogbogu - Texas A+M commit - OH - 7.97 FIT RATIO

Everyone knows who Ogbogu is, but that isn’t what this list is about. She can’t elevate the program to a 1st Natty, but you don’t usually pay what the Aggies did to have a recruit like that sit so she should gain points for early PT. Hometown kid, Parents are both alumni and will bring extra media attention so those are all + points going for Maya. The key is always about how what role does A+M have for her Year 1 and how does a player that has always been THE STAR adjust to the college game? She should adjust well and word is already her TAV alum at Setter should be feeding her often.

28. Chloe Ritchie - Louisville commit - Libero/DS - 7.98 FIT RATIO

Meske is a Munciana fan and that went a long way in them landing Ritchie so when it comes to Playin style: Check, Understanding Coaches Mentality: Check, Locker room +: Check. Now where the back row was an achilles for the Cards a year ago, by the time Miss Ritchie arrives that will NOT be the case and she will be walking in to a crowded Lib/DS room (assuming portal mania doesn’t hit) so she will have to battle hard for early PT, but intangible wise this is a perfect fit for her and the Cards who have NAILED two bro classes in a row.

27. Taylor Freeland - Wisconsin commit - Opposite 7.98 FIT RATIO

Freeland is still way too unknown to the US Volleyball world, but Kelly Sheffield knows! He battled many top programs to get her.

Mentality of her coach: Check

Playing Style of the Program: Check

High Ceiling: EXTREME (I’d have to believe that is what excites Sheff the most about Freeland is if she can adjust to the day in day out routine, she is untapped potential wise)

Program Fit: Mentally intense, hard-working, tough and super strong and athletic as heck. CHECK

Intangibles: I did hear this about four times this summer from a friend (and I love it also about Freeland) her brother’s in the NFL and her dad’s a football coach, her favorite hobby is powerlifting.

26. Chelsea Torrence - Georgia commit - Setter 7.99 FIT RATIO

Torrence is a solid pickup for a Georgia staff that sure put down roots with the right club that’s for sure. The A5 Setter scores points with

Regionality

Chance to Elevate the Program’s PPV

She has a High College Ceiling and Torrence appears to be a great fit for everything else the Dawgs are bringing in right now program wise.

25. Deviryn McCarty - Northern Iowa - Libero 8.00 FIT RATIO

Some athletes simply benefit because we know them and we know the program.

McCarty is a great fit for this program

She should push for time right away at Lib or DS

Obviously she is a local kid like Coach Pete has built a program on

She matches the the Coaches mentality and style exceptionally well so this should be a perfect fit.

Locker Fit should be a + as a competitor

Program Fit: I think McCarty is exactly what Pederson has built UNI VB on and she is getting a player who should have gone P4 and has something to prove. She has an Iowa girl with a lot of talent.

24. Rilynn Wingenbach - Creighton Commit - Middle - 8.03 FIT RATIO

Wingenbach matches the mentality of the BlueJay staff and should easily buy in to the training and style of coaching Coach Rosen implements in the gym.

Rilynn has an extremely high college ceiling and she is going to surprise a lot of people at the next level.

Program Fit: This should be a a good thing for Wingenbach and she should seamlessly transition into the Creighton program.

Intangibles: We have said this multiple times, work ethic has been the intangible that has taken Rilynn the furthest the past year.

College Ceiling: Work ethic continues then Wingenbach will be a household name, especially benefitting from playing in the Big East.

Potential for Early PT: Moderate to High. You never know with the portal, but I think she has a good shot to see some early reps (again considering her work ethic doesn’t drop off).

23. Shaun Waller - Pitt Commit - Middle - 8.05 FIT RATIO

Panther Nation is going to love this talented middle, who has some resemblance to

Match the Mentality: I think Waller plays with a bit of the Pitt chip that you need to make it on the 3 Rivers. Listen if you are succeeding in that system it’s intense and competitive (also very REWARDING) Waller has come along way with a bit of that chip.

Ceiling: All reports I’ve been given is ‘watch out when she gets trained in college’. Well this staff has done a decent job at developing both middles and overall talent that sticks around.

Immediate PT: Staff has shown if you are a promising year 1 and you compete, you will play. All those signs look good for Waller.

Program Fit: I mean she reminds me A LOT of my favorite Panther who was a middle who just graduated and had a heck of a career there after transferring in. I think she fits this place very, very well.

22. Chloe Frizzell - Georgetown Commit - 8.09 FIT RATIO

If you don’t know Chloe go watch some Austin Juniors film because she did a lot of damage on the club scene last Spring.

Georgetown is a program on the rise and Frizzell is one of a few that has a shot a moving the Hoyas and their PPV up the scale quite a bit.

She should push for some serious PT right away in the Georgetown lineup.

Everything I’ve heard she should ADDDDDDD to the locker room and overall environment in GTown.

21. Shayla Rautenberg - Nebraska Commit - Middle - 8.11 FIT RATIO

Regionality: she is from Lincoln and that has been publicized and will be her entire career so that has to be sky high for this middle.

Match with Coaches’ Mentality: I think this is a perfect fit with her new HC and should get along with DBK terrifically.

Some of the other factors are truly TBD as the Husker Program has quite a few GREAT, but QUESTIONS none the less on depth, playing time, how the program is being run etc. and it’s hard to predict Rautenberg’s exact role in that until her enrollment gets closer, but you have to think she is going to get every opportunity to be in that mix.
