Big Names Set to Battle in Indy for a chance to be UA All-American

on

Top prospects will be attending the UA Next Indianapolis this weekend, an opportunity for athletes to build relationships and develop their skills in a competitive environment. Indianapolis is bringing the heat this weekend.  Here is a breakdown of a couple of our favorite position battles to watch at UA NEXT..

Battle of the Setters:

Campbell Flynn - Legacy 6’3 Setter Nebraska commit

Flynn is a physical left-handed setter that positions herself to attack in the front row, and draws attention from the blocker with her ability to take over a game on the offensive end. A member of the U19 National Team that competed at the FIVB Championships, she has experience competing at the highest level for her age group and you see that in her decision making. Flynn brings strength and creativity as a setter by setting her middles out of system, she has the power to set against the flow and works hard to keep the defense of their toes. Her height at the net sets her apart from other setters in the class, she makes plays on tight balls to set her hitters and she brings a big presence on the blocking end.

Reese Messer - Dynasty 5’11 Setter University of Southern California commit

Messer has great vision of the defense across the net and provides leadership for her team on the court as a setter. Her ability to get her hitters one-on-one is spectacular and her consistent all placement is almost always on the money. She has quick feet to get to the ball off the net to give herelf all the options, playing alongside the best hitters in the country, she raises the level of play on whatever side of the net she is on. Messer is a high IQ setter which makes her one of the best setters in the nation. A dual sport athlete in high school, her natural athleticism and agility will allow her to be successful at the highest level.

Battle of the Outsides:

Chloe Meester: Adrenaline 6’3 Outside Hitter Louisville commit

Another dual sport athlete who chose to pursue volleyball in college, Meester has a tremendous range that allows her to be effective out of the system. A player who will continue to grow as a six-row outside hitter, already has the natural ability to succeed in serve receive and attack out of the back row. An athlete who may be considered underrated in her class, but she is a fluid and powerful attacker when she gets on top of the ball. Meester possesses all the physical intangibles for a successful college athlete and has the potential to make an impact at a Power 5 school.

Madison Quest: MKE Sting 6’3 Outside Hitter Wisconsin commit

Quest is a Midwest powerhouse with a naturally explosive approach jump that gives her all the range as an outside hitter. She is a physical athlete who is dynamic and effective from all positions on the court, she has experience hitting from the right side and middle. Her ball placement out of the system and high IQ allows her to score on a broken play. A player who's heavily relied on offensively for her high school team, she continues to rise to the occasion and exceed expectations as a true leader on the court. Quest impacts the game defensively as well, her length allows her to reach outside her body to make plays on defense and she reads the hitters' approach well to make her a shutdown blocker at the net.
