Create a Player Profile'26 Jayden Robinson on Winning Nationals

Husker commit Jayden Robinson has a relentless drive to improve herself, and it's manifesting on the court every single day. A 6-3 pin hitter out for her Houston Skyline 17 Royal team, Robinson was a standout attacker on a team abundant with standout attackers – who are now, officially not just the best in Texas for their age group, but in the entire nation. 17 Royal claimed their place atop the countries rankings after a thriller sweep over TAV Black Jonny in Girls Junior Nationals, seizing victory (25-21) (31-29) – closed out by a huge solo stuff courtesy of Lacey Tinnell. It was Robinson who set that point up though – coming through with a beautiful four-to-four cut shot kill the rally prior.
I asked her what the emotions were in that moment, as the team collapsed in on each other, basking in victory. “The emotions were really high because obviously we just won the national championship that every volleyball girl dreams about. Once we got the last point it felt unreal that we won. All the endless hours of work and all the late practices really helped us get to sign out as National Champions.” For a team that has had so much success – also winning the Tour of Texas and the Summer NIT, there couldn’t have been a more perfect note for them to sign off with. “After last year not finishing where we wanted to, ending our club season on the podium (and not just the podium but first place) really is surreal to end our season.”
Teammates with fellow highly-touted commits Halle Thompson (Wisconsin) and Nadiya Shelby (Florida), Jayden and her friends are now looking forward to the next chapter of their volleyball career. “My mindset now is to keep putting forth the effort and making sure to stay on top of school and sports. I still have to keep my head low to the ground even though we just won the national championship in 17 open.” Robinson will go from one legacy volleyball program to the next – two cultures deeply immersed in the winning mindset.
