Start to Finish Rautenberg left no doubt Class of 2028 #1 Ranked Prospect Checked ALL the boxes and never gave you reason to ?

She took control at Dream Team Camp from the opening drill and was the most confident, most dominant, most athletic, and most mature prospect in that gym for two straight days.  Shayla Rautenberg WANTED to be the best in the Devaney Center last July, and she was.  I stated it 11 months ago, "it was almost like she felt like she was hosting all the other recruits to her home, she was that comfortable and dominating those two days.  I saw a player dominate in a gym full of potential All-Americans, and she did it with a smile."

Shayla Rautenberg is the complete package in a class full of "great athletes" who will become very good volleyball players, I am sure, but each and every one of them, I have had to stop and ask questions at some point the past year.  Whether that be a work ethic question (to make it at the ELITE college level), attitude, or a coachability question, can they handle the heat of playing at the highest level, or are they simply being overhyped?  With Shayla, there was never a reason to do any of this; she is legit, and she checks the boxes.

First off, she doesn't ask for any of the attention. She would just as well talk about any of her other two sports she loves and competes just as hard in (basketball and track) as she would volleyball.  She is a throwback and a true multi-sport athlete.  Next, this girl will be a star, don't get me wrong.  The only brief interview we were able to do (poor internet connection killed the Zoom), but before we had a terrific conversation, and it honestly reminded me of only one other that I've had before with a high school athlete (when I talked with Izzy Starck for about 20 minutes before her UA All-American practice in Orlando a few years ago).  Third, Rautenberg is extremely humble when thinking about any other #1 prospect that has been mentioned less on social media or, honestly, on other websites than she is.  She is a 2x USA National Team member and will be a UA All-American and every other award there is, but you don't hear about Shayla like everyone else in the class.  I have my philosophies why that is, but still she plays in the Volleyball State and has gone through this club season, hardly mentioned.

They always say in the NFL Draft, if you are drafting #1, you want a "No-Brainer," no character issues, work ethic issues, and you want the talent scale to be extremely large.  So you are taking that pick with no doubts whatsoever.  That is why Shayla Rautenberg has been our #1 from Dream Team Camp all the way through June 15th.  Whoever gets her verbal is getting just that.  A volleyball NO BRAINER!  Congrats to Ms.Shayla Rautenberg, our 2028 VBAdrenaline #1 College Prospect
