Rising Stars - 5 Names College Coaches want to know

Rising Stars - 5 Names College Coaches want to know

If you’re waiting until junior year to learn these names, you’re already late. The 2028 and 2029 classes are loaded with emerging talent. These are 5 athletes that, as we went through their film, has a quality that stood out to me that I believe college coaches really covet. In this edition of Rising Stars, we break down five underclassmen whose tools, upside, and competitive edge suggest this is only the beginning. Remember the names now, you’ll be hearing them a lot more sooner than later.

Hannah Beal - 2029 MB/PIN, OTVA - Silver Level

When I turned on Hannah's film I was immediately impressed with how much body control she already has as a freshman. She is a super quick twitch, dynamic athlete who is quick off the ground, with a whip of an arm. When I watch the things she can do it reminds me of Azhani Tealer, while she was at Kentucky. Hannah also has the ability to be a hybrid-type MB who plays on a pin, but can also play in the middle running quicks. A Silver level, high upside athlete that a lot of colleges with creative offensive systems will covet.

Chayse Gilliland - 2028 OH, Tennessee Performance - Elite Red Level

Chayse suffered an unfortunate ACL injury that sidelined her freshman high school and club seasons, but she has attacked her rehab process and is back healthy, confident, and ready to make a name for herself. Chayse has a strong foundation of ball control as a true six-rotation outside hitter. What separates her, though, is a rare terminal arm. She attacks with serious pace and physicality, giving her the ability to score at any level. We are really looking forward to seeing Chayse's comeback this season and getting back onto D1 coaches radars for her June 15th conversations.

Saylor Halvorsen - 2028 OH, SG Elite - Red Level

Saylor took this year's high school season to transition from MB to OH, which after watching her film, was a smart decision given her skill set. She projects as a strong outside hitter at the next level, and as she continues to refine her passing and defensive skills, her stock will only continue to rise. She possesses great size at 75" with a 122+" jump touch to go along with a heavy arm. All the qualities that make her a strong D1 Red level prospect.

Sloane Rattay - 2028 OH, Oklahoma Charge - Elite Orange Level

I can’t recall a player who impressed me more than Sloane when I turned on her film. At 72", she already has solid size, but what really stands out is the leap she made from her freshman to sophomore year. She looks noticeably more springy and physical. Sloane is quick off the ground, consistently gets exceptional hand contact, and generates serious force behind the ball. Combine that with her ability to pass and contribute in the back row, and it’s no surprise her PPV jumped 64 points. She’s earned her spot as one of our Rising Stars this club season!

Taylor Sembower - 2029 OH, Gainesville Juniors - Red Level

I had the pleasure of watching Taylor up close during the 14 National USAV Championship match in July. She was scoring at will, leading her team to victory and earning the USAV National MVP award (adding to her AAU MVP honors). Taylor possesses Red-level jumping ability and a truly terminal arm, making her the go-to player for her squad in crucial sideout situations. If she continues to develop as a reliable passer, alongside her devastating offensive game, she has the potential to reach Elite Red-level status!
