Players Coaches Keep Telling Me to Watch

A big part of evaluation is listening to the people in the gym every day. These are the players that college coaches and club directors keep pointing out, athletes who may not always be the loudest names yet, but are consistently earning attention with their play. This list focuses on prospects from the 2028 and 2029 classes who are already separating themselves early, showing traits that project well as the recruiting process continues. We’d expect their PPVs to continue to rise as they build momentum throughout this club season.

Class of 2028:

Mandela Masimini - MB, VA Juniors - PPV 197, Red level

First-time Winter NTDP invitee with Gold level size and strength. Moves well laterally and shows good tools and length at the position. Owns a clean, efficient middle arm swing that gets the ball to the ground fast at good angles. A high-upside Red level prospect who is continuing to develop, given her size and length has Elite Red/Silver level potential!

Osa Olsgaard - OH, NPJ - PPV 162, Orange level

Don’t let her size fool you, she’s explosive with a verified 120” jump and a heavy arm. Plays with a high motor and brings constant energy to the court. Currently the top-ranked player in Oregon for her class and a name coaches continue to bring up.

Campbell Pieratt - Setter, Arizona Storm - PPV 174, Elite Orange level

Athletic and strong, a grinder who consistently puts in the work. Plays with composure and confidence, makes good emergency decisions, and keeps plays alive with quality saves. Sets a consistent tempo and is a plus defender who brings physicality and competitiveness coaches value at the position.

Class of 2029:

Emma Brayer - OPP, Arizona Revolution - PPV 168, Orange level

Long and athletic with a 121” jump, she has the measurables coaches love. Currently developing more power to complement her impressive verticality. A high-upside prospect trending toward orange-level as she continues to grow and refine her game.

Lela Campos - Setter, NPJ -  PPV 165, Orange level

She’s the real deal. Strong with great hands and a natural feel for running the offense, she consistently gets hitters open and has an excellent connection with her middles. While not the flashiest athlete, she can score herself and plays with very high volleyball IQ, making her a true floor leader.

Emma Nance - OH, Arizona Revolution - PPV 172, Elite Orange level

Shows solid size and a good jump, with a strong arm that allows her to score consistently. Passing and defense are still developing and show promise for her age, giving her a well-rounded foundation to build on.

Taylor Mechsner - OPP, TAV - PPV 191, Elite Orange level

Lefty with a 120” jump, she features a fast, smooth arm swing that puts great pace on her attacks. Her block is steady, and as she continues to develop, she projects as a high-level Elite Orange level opposite with RED level upside. Look for a jump in PPV this club season with TAV.

Monet Temple - OH, WD Nation - PPV 227, Elite Red level

NDTP Winter invitee with size, strength, and physicality, plus an impressive vertical. Brings all the tools offensively and shows serious athletic upside. Passing and ball control are still developing, but given her measurables and skill set, I’d expect significant jumps in her PPV as she continues to grow. A prospect with clear GOLD level potential!
