NC Academy 16 Diamond: Plenty of College Talent to Choose From

NC Academy 16 Diamond: Plenty of College Talent to Choose From

The state of North Carolina has seen its volleyball talent continue to escalate every single year for a while now.  Well, the NC Academy 16s Diamond squad is walking proof of that, with talent at all levels of talent on display on their roster, making a very talented squad that ended the year with a hard-fought week at USA Nationals.

Here is a quick glimpse at a few of the prospects you will be hearing much more about.

2029s

Naomi Stevens - 2029 OH - 121 inches - Already has attended an NTDP session, but still has work to do to be a standout OH in that class.  Stevens has a high skill level, but this year will be interesting to see if her 3-step approach and block touch continue to move with top prospects in that class.  Make no mistak,e there is talent in her game for sure.

2028s

Chloe Burbage - 2028 Setter/OPP - We have talked about our experience watching Burbage at Dream Team Camp this past Summer and will interview on that tonight.  Excited to get into the thought process of one of the top prospects in the class.  She had a very impressive Nationals in Dallas.

Maggie Jewell - 2028 Middle -  We know a lot about Maggie as she is the only NC Academy Diamond athlete (sadly) with a Player Profile, and we watched her a lot last year.  She is the middle who is growing into that body, and how quickly she finds it will determine quite a bit, but she had some very impressive Select Camp invites and performed well.  I thought her game continued to improve all Summer long, and she had a good Nationals and, as said before, a great camp tour!  Foot speed and quickness need to improve, and she can improve her explosion, but ultimately, how high she ends up playing will be a huge factor in where Jewell ends up.  She has a shot to be one of the Top 6-8 Middles in this class, no doubt.

Milena Aebischer - 2028 Middle - Interesting and solid commit.  She started out at Club V in Utah and moved to NC Academy at the end of the Summer.  She was an up-and-coming prospect on the West Coast and is starting over just a bit in the Carolinas, but made some waves immediately when arriving.  Those waves will continue as Milena is very good and will open plenty of eyes, just like she did on her Select Camp Tour this past summer.  I really look for her to climb the charts and be in for some early offers from some lower P4 schools as one of their Top Offers, and then some later offers from some larger P4 schools looking to grab her to fill out a good class.

Grace Winterbone- 2028 OPP 119 inches

Meredith Liles - 2028 Opp 73" and 123" approach touch NTDP attended

Cami Gerber - 2028 Libero Gerber went to several big Select camps in her off-season, including Michigan State and Miami.  She also had a very good Nationals and is an unsung star in the 2028 class for bros.
