Hometown Heroes: Maryland Rising Stars Making Moves

Maryland continues to produce a talented group of young volleyball prospects making their presence known on the court. From national tournament finishes and standout performances to college camps and developmental opportunities, these athletes are gaining experience that will shape their futures. This week’s Hometown Heroes spotlight shines a light on several Maryland standouts who are building momentum and making their mark in the sport.

Class of 2028

Alexis Beasley: Green level MB- Maryland Juniors 16 Elite Black

Alexis Beasley brings a strong presence to the middle for Maryland Juniors 16 Elite Black, standing at 6’1” and continuing to develop her game. She recently wrapped up her season at AAU Nationals, adding valuable national-level competition to her experience. Beasley has also taken advantage of opportunities to attend showcases and clinics, gaining additional exposure while continuing to sharpen her skills. With her size and growing experience, she is a prospect to keep an eye on as she continues her development.

Eireni Scott: Green level OH- Paramount VBC 16-1

Eireni Scott has continued to build an impressive resume as an outside hitter for Paramount VBC 16-1. She has earned Independent School League All-League honors in both 2024 and 2025, along with a second-place finish at USAV Nationals in the 16 National division. Scott has also gained experience at college camps including Princeton, Brown, Villanova, and others, giving her opportunities to compete and learn in different environments. Her 2026 UA Next Camp invitation adds another notable piece to her recruiting profile as she continues to make her mark on the court.

Katie Mitchell: Silver level OH- Metro 16 Travel

Katie Mitchell has established herself as a standout outside hitter for Metro 16 Travel, bringing a dynamic presence to the court at 6’0”. She was named MVP of the 15 National division at the USAV Girls Junior National Championships, highlighting her impact on the national stage. Mitchell has also been selected for the UA Next Camp and USAV NTDP U18, adding to an already impressive list of developmental opportunities. Now committed to Minnesota, she enters the next chapter of her career with a strong resume and plenty of momentum behind her.

Caroline Conroy: Gold level MB- Metro 15 Travel

Standing at 6’3”, Caroline Conroy has developed into a notable middle blocker for Metro 15 Travel. She has earned a spot in the USAV NTDP U17 program and was also selected for the UA Next Camp, reflecting her continued growth as a prospect. Conroy has gained additional experience through college camps at Wisconsin, Penn State, USC, UNC, and more. With a combination of size, training experience, and continued exposure, she is a player to watch as her game continues to progress.

Aniston Williams: Orange level MB- Metro 15 Travel

Aniston Williams has continued to make her presence felt in the middle for Metro 15 Travel, standing at 6’0”. She helped her team to a fifth-place finish at the 2026 USAV Girls Junior National Championships, gaining valuable experience on one of the sport’s biggest stages. Williams has also attended college camps at Northwestern and Rice, giving her opportunities to develop her game in competitive training environments. With national tournament experience and continued exposure to the college game, Williams is a prospect whose development will be worth following.

Chloe Radtke: Blue level libero/DS- MVA 14 National 

Chloe Radtke has established herself as a consistent presence in the back row for MVA 14 National. As a libero/DS, she brings dependable play and a steady approach to her team’s defensive efforts. Radtke continues to gain experience that will help shape her game as she moves forward in her development. With plenty of room to grow, she has a promising future ahead as she continues to build her skills.

Sai Herndon-Brown: Elite red level OH- Metro 14 Travel

At 6’0”, Sai Herndon-Brown brings a strong combination of size and athleticism to the outside for Metro 14 Travel. She has continued to expand her experience through college camps at Kansas, Miami, UNC, and more. Herndon-Brown has also put in additional work outside of her club season, taking advantage of training opportunities to refine different areas of her game. With continued development and a growing foundation of experience, she is a prospect with plenty of potential to build on moving forward.

Gabriella Scott: Elite Orange level MB- Metro 14 Travel

Gabriella Scott has already made an impact as a middle blocker for Metro 14 Travel, helping her team capture the Bronze Bracket Championship at the USAV Girls Junior National Championships. She also earned a varsity spot as a freshman at St. John’s College High School, gaining valuable experience early in her high school career. Scott has continued to pursue recruiting opportunities, attending a showcase that featured coaches from Penn State, Duke, Miami, and more. With early varsity experience and success on the national club stage, Scott is a prospect with plenty of room to continue building her game.

Abigail Chang: Green level setter- Metro 14 Travel

Abigail Chang has put together a successful club season as a setter for Metro 14 Travel, helping her team reach multiple championship finishes. Her ability to help lead her team through a strong season has been a key part of her development at the position. Chang has also continued to put in work outside of the club season, showing a strong work ethic and commitment to improving her game. With that dedication continuing to grow, she has a solid foundation to build on in the years ahead.

Marleigh Hamlett: Blue level OH- Metro 13 Travel

Marleigh Hamlett brings plenty of energy to the court as an outside hitter for Metro 13 Travel. She has continued to invest in her development through extensive work outside of the club season, giving her additional opportunities to refine her skills. Hamlett also attended a camp at Howard, gaining experience in a college training environment. Her upbeat presence and commitment to improvement give her plenty to build on as she continues her volleyball journey.
