In what is the biggest splash by any Big 10 team so far, Nebraska was able to land Taylor Landfair, a former outside at Minnesota, in the transfer portal.
Landfair is heading into her Redshirt Senior season and may be the transfer portal's best player. The Outside has been named to the All-Big 10 First Team three times, the All-Big Ten Freshman Team, the AVCA All-North Team three times, and the AVCA- First Team All-America in 2022. Landfair was also named Big 10 Player of the Year in 2022.
Landfair finished her Minnesota career with 1,131 kills, 3.5 per set, 461 digs, and 178 blocks. She will go down as one of the best Gophers to ever play.
"The decision to leave Minnesota is simple." Landfair said, "It's no longer the right fit for me."
She now transfers to a Nebraska team that lost in the National Championship game and still has a strong core of young players with the team. Nebraska didn’t have a single senior, but they lost two young Outsides to the transfer portal, so Landfair can immediately come in and succeed. The Cornhuskers struggled to find the floor in the championship game, so Landfair is a direct response to that finish.
"I am so excited for my next journey of becoming a Husker. It's a highly competitive program and I'm up for the challenge" Landfair said, "I'm so excited and honored to be a part of Husker Nation. NEw Year, NEw team, NEw opportunities, NEBRASKA HERE I COME!"
