BREAKING: Former Cornhusker Maggie Mendelson is Headed to Happy Valley

BREAKING: Former Cornhusker Maggie Mendelson is Headed to Happy Valley

Penn State is absolutely on fire right now. Just weeks after signing Nebraska Cornhusker Caroline Jurevicius, they add her teammate, Middle Blocker Maggie Mendelson

Mendelson is heading to Happy Valley after spending her first two years with Nebraska. After being a top 10 recruit in the 2022 class, Mendelson only played 27 matches with the Cornhuskers over two seasons.  She finished her career with 48 blocks and 74 kills in her matches. Mendelson couldn’t get the playing time many expected when she came in. Sophomore Bekka Allick and Freshman Andi Jackson were blocking Mendelson from getting touches.

“I am so grateful for my experience at my previous school.” Mendelson said in her Instagram post,  “All the people I have met will be a huge part of my life forever.”

Mendelson now joins her teammate Jurevicius at Penn State. Penn State lost both of their top Middles to graduation. Allie Holland and Taylor Trammell combined for 297 of the Nittany Lions 337 blocks. They were absolutely dominant for the Lions, so Mendelson will immediately be able to come in and start.

“I am so excited for the opportunity to continue my journey at Penn State! I can’t wait to be in HAPPY VALLEY!”
