Bre' Kelley Sees Room To Grow at Pitt

Bre Kelley, a former Florida Gator middle blocker, announced that she was transferring to Pitt this past week in a move that continues a busy offseason for the Panthers.

Kelley, who will be a junior and has two years of eligibility remaining, chose Pitt over schools like Louisville and Oregon.

“I chose Pitt because I believe (Coach Dan) Fisher is the right coach for me. He’s tough, competitive, involved with his players, and it's easy to be coached by him.” Kelley said,  “I also chose Pitt because they have a good education and a great team atmosphere!”

Kelley started in all 31 matches for the Gators last year. She was a one-time SEC Defensive Player of the Week and finished second on the team in blocks with 124.0 and fourth in kills with 203.

After a quick transfer process, Kelley woke up one morning and knew she wanted to be a Panther, but she wasn’t the first to realize that.

“I woke up one morning with a guy feeling I knew where I wanted to go! My father even told me he knew before I did!” Kelley said.

Kelley is the third significant transfer for Pitt this summer as he landed Logan Mosely from Virginia Tech and Emma Monks out of Michigan State. These transfers also add to the Panther's already touted 8th-ranked recruiting class, according to PrepVolleyball.  

Kelley is looking forward to continuing her journey at Pitt and is excited to join the fantastic community around the school.

“I am very excited to play for Pitt and attend this school because it feels like it’s my own family when I’m in the city of Pittsburgh!” Kelley said, “Everyone is close with each other, and I love it! I know it’s going to be cold, and I’m not used to that, but really looking forward to being a Panther and growing as a volleyball player and person because I have so much more room for growth!
