Minnesota Select’s Avery Minor is one of the more intriguing right-side prospects in the 2028 class, and after diving into her film, it’s easy to see why. The lefty opposite brings a smooth, natural arm swing that jumps off the screen. She does a great job elevating, hanging in the air, and whipping that left arm through the ball with speed and confidence. There’s rhythm and balance to her attack, and when she’s in system, she looks incredibly comfortable terminating from the pin.
What really stood out from her Minnesota Select 16-1 film was just how effective she is as a scorer. She isn’t just taking big swings; she’s scoring at a high clip. Her ability to get up and over the block, combined with the deception and tempo that comes with being a lefty on the right side, makes her a tough matchup. She shows the kind of attacking presence that can shift momentum and put pressure on opposing defenses.
We’re excited to see her live at the Triple Crown NIT and to watch which college programs make their way to her court. Avery earns an initial PPV of 208, placing her squarely in the Red Level prospect category. With a strong showing this weekend against elite competition, she absolutely has the upside to push into Elite Red territory. She’s a name that Sharpies have already written on several whiteboards around Midwest universities. After Saturday, say 6 PM, she should be a name typed into maybe 30-40 more P4 Universal Athlete apps, and traffic will pick up on the MN Select court by Sunday for certain..
