'28 Setter Spotlight: Woodruff will bring a loaded resume and plenty of W's her next stop

'28 Setter Spotlight: Woodruff will bring a loaded resume and plenty of W's her next stop

The next three months, there will be much debate over who goes where come June 15th, especially at the Setter position.  One athlete who has made a significant jump on our board is Peyton Woodruff of Legacy.  Sure, you could say, "Oh, take a Legacy Setter, easy decision, they are always rated high and get recruited."  Again, we don't pay attention to others' ratings, and in a class full of talented setters, it took a bit for Peyton to separate from some others.  Yes, she plays on an uber-talented club squad and high school program, but you also have to earn that position; you don't just walk into it, so you must have the talent to be the starting setter at Legacy first off.  Then you don't keep that position without competing and Winning.  Woodruff has done a lot of both, and that is what we loved when she updated her Player Profile with VBAdrenaline. We really got to know more about this talented athlete, and she backed it all up both at the Triple Crown and again in Florida.

Here is what you get when you recruit the Michigan prospect this June:

Named to the 1st Ever America's 200 by VBAdrenaline (Top 200 Players in America regardless of age)

2025 Michigan Div II State Champion and 2025 Michigan Div II 1st Team All-State

Multiple times USA VB NTDP Invitee

2025 Triple Crown NIT All-Tournament Team 15U Open

2024 Michigan Div II State Champion and 2024 Michigan Div II 1st Team All-State

2024 AAU All-American 14 Open

2023 USAV National Champion 13 Open and 2023 AAU All-American 13 Open

2x AAU All American - 2023, 2024.

2023 USAV National Champion

1st Team All-State (high school) and Team State Championship (high school)

She has camped at several SEC schools already, so she has a great idea of what big school competition looks like, and they have an idea about her.  Our early sources tell us that she is helping herself early on, and with so many Top 20 programs needing setters this recruiting class, Woodruff should have several options come June.
