From a USA Volleyball Press Release:
"USA Volleyball announces the 18 athletes who have been selected to prepare for the 2025 FIVB Girls U19 World Championship, set to take place from July 2-13 in Osijek, Croatia, and Vrnjacka Banja, Serbia. The U.S. will compete in Pool C alongside teams from Turkey, Bulgaria, Poland, Peru and Spain.
The U.S. Girls U19 National Team is the reigning world champion, having won the event in 2023.
The first training block for the U19 National Team will be June 1-7 in Colorado Springs. At the end of training, 12 athletes will be selected for the final competition roster, and they will have a second phase of preparation in the Netherlands, from June 26-30, 2025.
The roster includes several returners from the 2024 U19 National Team, which won gold at the 2024 NORECA Continental Championship, as well as previous participation in the U19 Pan Am Cup and U21 World Championship."
Three of these returners are Longhorns, tied with Pitt for the most from any college program.
- Henley Anderson (2026 OH) – 2024 U19 National Team, U19 Continental Championship (Gold)
- Genevieve Harris (2026 S) – 2024 U19 National Team, U19 Continental Championship (Gold – Best Setter)
- Cari Spears (Freshman OH) – 2023 U19 National Team, 2022 U19 National Team, U19 Pan Am Cup (Gold)
Representing your country is an extremely unique opportunity only afforded to a select few. Anderson, Harris, and Spears will only become better volleyball players from training at a national level, learning from new coaches, and seeing the game played at a higher level. This experience is also an important pipeline for developing players to represent the USA or play professional volleyball after college. We'll be rooting on these Horns as they return to the international stage.
