Louisville Staff Heads to JVA Summerfest for Key Recruiting Weekend

One of the biggest summer events on the club volleyball calendar is here—JVA Summerfest, held May 31–June 1 in Columbus, Ohio. Known for its high-level competition and deep talent pool, Summerfest consistently draws top clubs from across the Midwest and beyond—and it’s no surprise that Louisville assistant coach Parker Mikesch will be in the gym, scouting for future Cardinals.

With national-level athletes across multiple age groups, Summerfest provides a prime opportunity to evaluate talent in a high-stakes environment just ahead of the national championship season.

Here are a few standout names Coach Mikesch is expected to be watching closely:

  • Cala Haffner – 2028 Libero from Pineapple
  • Taylor Harrington – 2027 Middle Blocker from Paramount
  • Keilani Ledaja-Brewer – 2027 Outside Hitter from Triangle
  • Elli Strecker – 2026 Middle Blocker from Team Indiana (Louisville commit)

For Strecker, it’s another chance to showcase her development and reaffirm her place in Louisville’s stacked 2026 class. For the others, it’s an opportunity to stand out and potentially earn a future spot in a Louisville uniform.

As the Cardinals continue to build one of the most consistent and competitive rosters in the country, events like Summerfest remain crucial to identifying the next wave of elite talent.
