Class of 2028 middle blocker/outside hitter Maggie Jewell has announced her verbal commitment to the University at Buffalo, adding another exciting milestone to an already impressive high school and club volleyball career.
Jewell, who plays for Triangle VBC and East Chapel Hill High School, has continued to build her résumé through consistent production and development at the net. She currently ranks No. 5 nationally in total blocks among the class of 2028, according to MaxPreps, showcasing her impact as a front-row presence. With a reported 122-inch approach touch, Jewell brings athleticism and explosiveness to the court, and her game has continued to develop as she gets stronger and more dynamic.
Her accomplishments include two Carolina Region NTDP selections, an invitation to the 2026 Under Armour Camp, and recognition on the 2026 AVCA Phenom Watchlist and JVA Watchlist. She was also named to the 2025 NCAVCA All-Region Team, the NCHSAA All-Conference Team and the Wildcats Invitational All-Tournament Team. Her earlier honors include 2024 All-Region recognition, an All-Conference honorable mention and East Chapel Hill’s Varsity Wildcat Newcomer Award.
With her combination of blocking production, athletic potential and experience across both middle and outside hitter, Jewell gives Buffalo a versatile prospect with plenty of room to keep growing. As she continues through her high school and club career, she’ll look to build on that momentum as she prepares for the next level.
