Transfer Portal Watch: Who Might the Cards Add This Spring?

The spring NCAA transfer portal window officially opened on May 1 and runs through May 15. This brief but busy two-week period allows college volleyball athletes to explore new opportunities—and for programs like Louisville, it’s a key time to evaluate potential roster additions.

As of now, Louisville Volleyball sits at 16 players heading into the fall, just two shy of the NCAA’s maximum roster limit of 18. That opens the door for possible late additions, especially in areas where added firepower or depth could elevate the team even further.

From an outside perspective, the most likely positions of need appear to be:

  • A terminal left-side attacker
  • A more offensively dynamic middle
  • Additional depth at libero

While there’s no official word yet, some high-profile names floating in the transfer conversation (purely speculative) include:

  • Kennedy Martin (Opposite, Florida) – One of the top young hitters in the country with elite scoring ability
  • Marianna Singletary (Middle, Texas) – A dynamic presence at the net
  • Lola Schumacher (Libero, Wisconsin) – A defensive anchor who could bring experience and consistency to the backcourt

The Cards’ coaching staff has consistently built competitive and balanced rosters, and while they’re confident in the current 16, smart programs know that adding depth—especially with proven impact players—can make all the difference when chasing postseason success.
