STATEMENT MADE: Hey NCAA Mustangs are for real!

The National TV audience that tuned in on ESPN 2 thought they would be in for one heck of a match Tuesday night as Texas A+M came to Moody to face SMU in the first Top 10 matchup in over 50 years held on the SMU campus.  They got part of what they expected, but the show ended quite a bit sooner than anyone had planned for, and the Mustangs came away with another program statement sweep over the #8 Aggies, and it wasn't that close.

Now this wasn't the night for A+M and they did not play the volleyball that had got them off to the undefeated start and the high ranking and talk amongst national media members, by any means, but the Ponies had a lot to do with that taking control early and getting the loud and rowdy home crowd into things early and SMU's "young, but talented squad" didn't look the young part on this night never looking back or slowing down.

I think everyone watching, on TV or in attendance, was waiting for the Aggies to regroup and the Mustangs to cool off a bit, but it simply never happened on this memorable night in Moody.  The stars did what they are expected to do from start to finish and when you saw that level of volleyball I promise you there were other ACC and national opponents that had to be saying "When they play like this, they are _____ hard to beat."

So once again, the Mustangs have started to gain the attention of the rest of the NCAA slowly, but surely, and wins like this on National TV only help more matches like this come to town in the future!  The MO needs to continue as the SMU train heads on the road, and the next stop is even tougher as they head to #3-ranked Kentucky, and they will need all of this type of effort in Lexington.
