Kendall O: As in "Oh my goodness" out in Vegas

Kendall O: As in "Oh my goodness" out in Vegas

Last weekend Las Vegas, Durango Fall Classic was packed with names and athletes you will hear about for years.  Mostly West Coast stars doing there thing and there were many from our soon to be released American Top 150 List that showed up as they should.  I don't pretend that I sat and watched the AZ Storm non-stop last season, match after match, but I did watch as much of them as I did any club team in the 16s division I would have to say.  People would often ask me about Kendall Omoruyi and I was never quite sure how to answer them.  Both interviews I have done with Kendall have been excellent, it takes a minute and she is definitely ready to challenge you with deep thoughts (which I am a big fan of be your person for sure Kendall) I really do enjoy talking with her the few times we have been able.  She is 6'4" minimum and as athletic a big as you can find in the country, she can be nasty on a volleyball court for stretches and block like it's almost effortless.  Then there were times that I didn't notice her on the floor as the deep Storm roster might struggle a bit or others would do their thing and later I would think to myself "what did Kendall do".  I could simply never put my finger on it, I just felt she had more she wasn't putting out there.

I saw it in Vegas!  Oh my that girl was locked in with an extra half step on her approaches.  Just everything was crisp every time.  Down the stretch of tight matches she was so checked in and wanting the ball, when she would get touches on a set or match point or a block or kill to end a match Kendall fell to the floor with emotion.  Again I had never seen this level with her.  She is playing in California this season and with a deep and talented Sierra Canyon prep team, but I noticed her a few different times from two courts over making a play or celebrating, things I just wasn't used to with Omoyuri, but that I loved.  It looked fun for her and I love to see that and it makes her a more dangerous prospect and player if she can keep that up long-term.  For the weekend it was great to see and I have more of glimpse I think of where that bar can be and Big Red Nation will definitely like it, it's high for sure.  Keep having fun Kendall O!!
