Full Starting Lineup for Cats' Opening Match Against Lipscomb Revealed

With so many players departing after graduation following the completion of last season, we knew there were going to be several spots to fill on the court once Kentucky's first gameday of the 2025 college volleyball season rolled around. Well, the day has finally arrived and we now know the full list of starters as Kentucky prepares to take on Lipscomb this afternoon inside Allen Arena in Nashville, Tn.

S: Ava Sarafa

Middles: Lizzie Carr, Kennedy Washington

Outside Hitters: Brooklyn DeLeye, Eva Hudson

Right Side: Asia Thigpen

Libero: Molly Tuozzo

The setting position was the one that came with the most questions, and it looks like UK head coach Craig Skinner will lean on experience to begin the season. The middles will look different compared to last year as incoming Purdue transfer and 6'6" middle blocker Lizzie Carr gets the start along with sophomore Kennedy Washington, who played behind Brooke Bultema and Jordyn Dailey last year. Looks like Washington has been working hard in the gym and Skinner has seen something he likes. Unsurprisingly, outside hitters Brooklyn DeLeye and Eva Hudson will start on the left as the Cats look to utilize the potentially lethal 1-2 offensive punch that DeLeye and Hudson can bring. Junior Molly Tuozzo remains the Cats' defensive leader at the libero spot and sophomore Asia Thigpen will get the start on the right side as the staff looks to take advantage of her expolsive arm and terrific blocking ability.

With first serve less than an hour away, we're just moments away from answering a lot of the questions that we had in the offseason. And if the lineup changes are any indication, it seems like the competition in the gym has certainly made its way to Nashville.
