Cornhuskers dominate in sweep over Michigan for first conference victory

The Nebraska Cornhuskers had no problem taking care of the Michigan Wolverines in their opening Big Ten match, sweeping them 3-0.

The Cornhuskers were led by Harper Murray, who had 11 kills and a hitting percentage of .391 with seven digs and two blocks.

 Virginia Adriano added 10 kills on .444 hitting and added three blocks. Rebekah Allick had nine kills with two blocks, while Andi Jackson tallied eight kills on .778 hitting with three blocks. 

Bergen Riley made history Wednesday night. With her 28 assists, she passed her head coach, Dani Busboom Kelly, for fifth on NU's career assists list in the rally scoring era (2,950). 

The Cornhuskers tallied five aces from five different players, and they nearly doubled up the Wolverines in kills, 47-24. The Huskers had 37 digs to 24 for the Wolverines, led by Olivia Mauch, who had a team high 11 digs.  

Speaking of coach Kelly, she amasses her first victory as Huskers head coach. 

Next up for the Cornhuskers is the Maryland Terrapins on Saturday afternoon.
