Breaking Down the Louisville Cardinals’ 2027 Recruiting Class

Breaking Down the Louisville Cardinals’ 2027 Recruiting Class

Louisville Volleyball is heating up on the recruiting trail—and the 2027 class is shaping up to be something special.

In just three days, the Cardinals locked in commitments from three high-impact athletes at three key positions: libero, middle blocker, and outside hitter. These players not only meet critical roster needs, but they also represent the next wave of elite talent to wear the red and black.

2027 Commits:

  • Libero – Lizzy Bower

Club: Idaho Crush

  • Middle Blocker – Carsyn Comer

Club: Munciana Samurai

  • Outside Hitter – Keilani Ledaja-Brewer

Club: Triangle 17 Black

Libero – Lizzy Bower (Idaho Crush)

Bower is a composed, high-IQ libero with elite passing and floor defense. She made a strong impression at Louisville’s June 13 prospect camp, earning praise from the full staff for her maturity and consistency in serve receive.

Assistant coach CC McGraw—known nationally for her defensive acumen and player development—made the trip to Idaho earlier this spring to evaluate Bower firsthand. That investment speaks volumes. Under McGraw’s leadership, Bower could very well go down as one of the program’s greats in the backcourt.

Middle Blocker – Carsyn Comer (Munciana Samurai)

Comer brings size, athleticism, and a fast first step to the middle blocker position. She’s a standout from powerhouse Munciana and reminds many of former Louisville All-American Amaya Tillman with her ability to read offenses and run an aggressive slide. Her blocking instincts and offensive range make her a key cornerstone in this 2027 class.

Outside Hitter – Keilani Ledaja-Brewer (Triangle 17 Black)

Louisville stayed hot with their third commitment in three days, securing a pledge from outside hitter Keilani Ledaja-Brewer.

Hailing from Chapel Hill, NC, and competing for Triangle Volleyball Club, Keilani is a dynamic, high-flying outside who can terminate from anywhere on the court. Cardinal fans should think of a player in the mold of Charitie Luper—athletic, explosive, and capable of playing all six rotations.

The Louisville staff honed in on Keilani early in the spring, watching her closely at major events throughout the club season. She also made the trip to campus for the Cards’ June 13 prospect camp, where she got a strong feel for the program, the campus, and the team culture. One of the top outside hitters in the 2027 class, Keilani has the tools to make an immediate impact at the next level.

Momentum Building Under Coach Meske

This trio of early commits is a huge win for the Louisville staff—and a clear sign that the program’s recruiting momentum hasn’t missed a beat under new head coach Dan Meske. With Bower, Comer, and Ledaja-Brewer on board, the Cards have addressed their biggest future needs with elite-level talent from some of the top clubs in the country.

And if this start is any indication, the 2027 class could be one of Louisville’s most exciting yet.
