Breaking Down the Big 3: Creighton's Best Recruiting Class Ever?

Now that recruiting has died down, its time to take a look at the players Creighton added for their 2027 team. With national talent, it is clear that these players are shaping up to be one of the Bluejays best recruiting classes ever!
Allie Hudgins: The first recruit to sign was Allie Hudgins out of Texas and Texas Advantage as her club team. Hudgins was ranked 29th nationally, making her the highest recruit in Creighton history! What stands out to me about Allie is her shot placement. At 6’4, she has incredible height for an outside and is able to take shots down the line and to the corners with ease.
Hudgins said on why she chose to commit to Creighton, “My whole life I wanted to go to a smaller Catholic school even if I didn’t play volleyball in college. So getting to go to a smaller Catholic school and play volleyball is just an absolute dream come true.”
Coming from one of the most elite club teams in the country, Hudgins is no stranger to heavy competition. This is why I think she’ll fight right in with the Bluejays. Her drive and determination to do well make her a perfect fit on the Creighton campus.
Ruthie Robinson: The next recruit to announce her decision was Ruthie Robinson from Sioux Falls, South Dakota and playing for Kairos Elite. Another top prospect in the country, Robinson’s ability to read the block as a middle is exceptional and it gives her a great read on the opponents. This is seen especially on overpass kills and slides which she excels in.
Robinson said, “I chose Creighton because I have a lot of trust in what the coaches plan for the future.” She also said, “I saw something special in this staff and team cheering them along in the Elite 8 last season.”
The coaching staff will also fit right in with Ruthie as she plays with a lot of heart and trusts her teammates to set her up for that perfect kill. As the 2027 season approaches, it will be exciting to see how Robinson comes together working with her new teammates and those already on campus.
Reagan Wallraff: The final recruit to make her statement was Reagan Wallraff coming from Omaha, Nebraska. Playing for Nebraska One Volleyball, Wallraff has always been surrounded by many possible Creighton and Nebraska recruits. As an outside, she always has a new shot to use making her game incredibly versatile. Reagan can bring the team together but also put away points.
One her commitment to Creighton Wallraff said, “Creighton has such a great volleyball tradition, and I’m proud to be joining a program with so much success and history. I can’t wait to be a part of it and grow both on and off the court.”
Reagan wanted to stay close to home and this will help keep the team grounded in Omaha. She said, “Being close to my family and friends was a big part of my decision. I’ve always had their support and knowing they’ll be able to watch me play and be a part of the next chapter means so much.”
All three recruits have incredible talents and will bring so much to the Bluejay program. It will be great to see how the rest of their high school careers shape up before they become official members of Bluejay Nation.
