The Nebraska Cornhuskers are ready to start Big Ten play as they have already opened up the season with a 5-0 record.
Middle blocker Andi Jackson explains why this team has gotten off to such a quick start and why she believes they have clicked so early to start the season.
"This team has done a really good job adjusting. During one of the press conferences, I expressed that we are working on new things, that's really coming to fruition, the team overall is adjusting really well, I think you can really feel it out on the court, she said.
Then added, "It feels like one unit, she said, It always has, but going into this season I'm really confident that we are going to be one and play some great volleyball."
Even before the season started, the Huskers had to deal with the news that their long-time head coach, John Cook, was retiring after leading the squad to four national championships, 14 conference titles, and 12 Final Four appearances but so far, that has affected this team.
It appears they are picking up where they left off with new head coach Dani Bushboom Kelly, who once led the Louisville Cardinals volleyball team and made them into a volleyball powerhouse as well.
The Cornhuskers open Big Ten play against the Michigan Wolverines on Wednesday night. The Wolverines finished 10th in the conference last season with an overall record of 18-13.
